"I highly recommend Brooke's services to any school leader seeking to bring his/her team to a higher level of engagement, communication, and collaboration. Her work was outstanding, and I am already thinking of the next opportunity in which our school may benefit from her services."
John Huber, Head of School, The Emerson School

"Recently we held one of the most effective 2 hour professional training sessions with Dr. Brooke Carroll. Dr. Carroll lead the team of teachers, admin staff and professionals through a leadership session that was designed to foster a sense of collaboration and connection among team members and to begin to articulate individual and group goals. Dr. Carroll is highly skilled, very pleasant and incredibly inspiring. She allowed each of the staff members to express themselves, and evoked the most important issues while taking care of sensitive feelings. It was a remarkable session and I highly recommend her." Ellie Lichtash, Head of School, Alef Bet Montessori

Management Skills for New Leaders
A year-long professional development cohort
for new and emerging school leaders
2017-2018

We are launching our second cohort!  Beginning September, 2017 we will offer new and emerging leaders an opportunity to participate in a year-long professional development group. By understanding how and why people act in systems and learning practical management strategies, leaders will be more effective and will feel confident working with and supervising others. This professional development course will facilitate growth in middle-level educational managers’ skills and abilities in managing their work, the people they supervise, and themselves.

The 2017-18 Management Training for New Leaders Cohort offers:
  • Six two-hour In-Person Workshops
  • Two free webinars
  • Personalized coaching sessions throughout the year
  • Digital libraries and workbooks for each module
  • School visits
  • Connection, collaboration, and support from group of professionals in similar career stages

Participants will conclude the year with specific supervisory strategies; tools for conversations with colleagues, supervisees, parents and students; and confidence in their abilities. Participants will also receive a certificate of completion and recommendations for professional profiles.

Through this course, educational leaders will:
  • Understand the different skills needed to be an employee, manager, and leader
  • Investigate how roles and responsibilities impact efficacy and professional relationships
  • Learn skills and strategies for managing time, schedules, and work
  • Deepen connections between social-emotional learning and leadership
  • Develop goal setting and strategy making skills
  • Enhance ability to navigate challenging conversations
  • Refine delegation skills
  • Expand skills for hiring and supporting employees

Every session includes diversity and inclusion and work/life balance.

This year-long professional development opportunity begins in September, 2017 and concludes May 2018.  In-person workshops take place at member schools.

The fee is $3,000 for the full year for one participant; $2,500 per person for more than one participant per school.  Applications should be submitted to Brooke Carroll and Jen Cort through the attached application.
